The Skincare Line Up - # 1

Okay so it would be fair to say of late that I have been rather engrossed in skincare. I still have quite a few products I want to try, but as currently on Project 10 Pan and having made a couple of investments beforehand, I need to work through what I have. These are what I am using a the moment, with my thoughts on how effective they are. I have added the links purely so if you wanted to check the products out for yourself then you can!

(Disclaimer: I have dry and relatively problem free skin with the odd spot here and there).

Cleansers
balance Me, cleanse and smooth face balm £20 (I swear whilst in Waitrose this was perhaps wrongly priced at £12 which I bought it for without realising!) Click here
Now this product took me by suprise and I would actually say it is my favourite cleanser to date. It has small grains of 'radiance boosting oatmeal' in, but this isnt the kind of thing that pulls, drags and scratches at your face. I use this daily and it doesn't leave me red like most 'exfoliating cleansers' might. I bought the Emma Hardy first, but I think I do actually prefer this!

- Emma Hardy, amazing face, Moringa Cleansing Balm £34 Click here
This is a really raved about cleanser, and it is really good, my skin is in excellent condition at the moment and this really is quite heavy and able to take of even my waterproof mascara! I do feel however that my skin looks better after using my balance Me cleanser so would probably recommend that over this, personally.

Toner and Mask
L'Oreal Paris, Age Perfect, Refreshing Toner £4.49 (Found in drugstores like Superdrug you can probably buy this on sale or in a deal at some point).
I am currently in the middle of attempting to try out different toners. This is the one I am using at the moment that I would repurchase. From what I have researched you should try and use two toners. One to exfoliate the skin and one to refresh. It does exactly as it says on the packet and refreshes!  I am however eyeing up the much lusted after Pixi Glow Tonic. When I have time to swing by Carnaby Street London I think I will be making a stop by their store. The Pixi Glow Tonic is more an exfoliating toner, so could be paired with this. I will review once I have managed to get my paws on some!

- Origins, Clear Improvements, Active Clay Mask. (Which it seems Origins have made a mistake with pricing... £10 for 50ml or £22 for 100ml. Not really pushing the bigger product too well?Click here
I had seen this on lots of blogs and YouTube videos and I actually really do like it and would consider repurchasing. It is a fairly steep price for a face mask I guess, but I bought mine in January and its still going strong. I use it once a week or whenever I fancy a pamper. I can really notice a difference in my skin after using this!

Moisturisers
I am a bit stuck in a rut at the moment with moisturiser. I was using a Decleor one that I loved, but I strayed as I am fickle and get pulled in by the claims and reviews of others. If you have any great moisturiser recommends let me know!
No7, Protect and Perfect, Night Cream £23
I actually really enjoyed using this. It was thick and moisturising on my dry skin. I think if you were a bit oilier that you perhaps might not want something this thick however. Although it should be good for winter coming up. I have used this up just recently and I am in two minds of repurchasing, I think purely because I would like to try out something else!

- ASDA skinsystem:face, daily moisturising cream SPF 8 (discontinued)
Although this is discontinued and not necessarily my favourite product, it isn't at all the worst. I think I can get very caught up in skincare with the thought 'oh but I only get one skin' justifying any skincare splurges I make. I am currently trying to use this up as part of my Project 10 Pan, and I don't hate it! I think this would be really good for younger people who dont have that much money to spend on skincare or even students. It is moisturising, perhaps not as long lasting as some of the others, but good under make up!

Decleor, Hydra Floral Anti Pollution 'Fresh Flower' Moisturising Emulsion Paraben Free £28.50 (Mouthful!) Click here
This was a bit of a disappointment for me. I love Decleor, I purchased a set in duty free before a trip to Edinburgh and used it the whole trip and subsequently when I got home. It was love and I think my boyfriend found it all rather trivial how I loved it so much and got excited to put it on every night. I then saw this and had heard rave reviews about it and although its fine and an alright product, I can't necessarily say it lives up to other Decleor products I have tried in the past and I don't think I would miss it! Especially for the price, I want something a bit more special!

So that was my round up of what I am using at the moment, I am also eyeing up Hydralauron, which is a treatment to put on before your moisturiser to really make sure its working its best and hydrating your skin effectively. I do however want to get my moisturiser right first! What are your recommends?

Project 10 Pan + Hello!

Hello! My name is Hannah. I have had a Beauty Blog before but as I got more and more into my degree it had to be put on the back burner. That was around 3 or so years ago and my approach to products and what I use has changed slightly, as I suppose anybodies would, so I have created this new blog to start fresh. I am going to attempt to post every other day!

I am going to start off with what might perhaps seem an odd post, a 'Project 10 Pan' post. Instead of jumping back in with loads of products and purchases, I have been perusing my collection and gradually editing it down and down. There was a time when I would go mad when every MAC Collection came out and as a result ended up with more products then I needed, especially paired with general drug store and product buying too!

Project 10 Pan for people who don't perhaps know is where you take a look at what existing products you have within your collection and choose 10 that you aim to use up or at least 'hit pan' (for example the metal pan in the bottom of an eyeshadow) before you buy any more make up products!

Its tough, but here below are my picks for this:

The list includes (clockwise from top):
1. Soap and Glory 'Hand Food'. A lovely hand cream but I have far too many of the travel size offerings floating around my house and handbag!
2. Soap and Glory 'Heel Genius'. A Foot cream that smells good and seems great, I just don't always reach for it for some reason.
3. Asda 'Moisturiser'. I'm not really sure how this reached me, but it actually isn't too bad at all, suprised! Having Decleor and co. in my collection means this usually gets bypassed.
4. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream. This product is good for those no make up make up days and works well with my skin (dry).
5. Maxfactor False Lash Effect Mascara. This is one of my favourite mascaras, but I have far too many open. I need to use them up and I don't want this to go to waste!
6. Urban Decay Pocket Rocket in 'James'. This is a gimmick central product. The gloss is a bit stickier than I like and its not anything special. My boyfriend hates the smell and taste of this when I wear it... I have seen from other posts that others have the same opinnion on this.
7. Barry M Blush. I'm not sure of the colour of this as its either rubbed off or wasn't ever there. It has a bit of an old lady powder smell to it, but I quite like the way it looks on.
8. Urban Decay (A very well loved) Naked Pallette. I really like this, I honestly do. However, I also have the Naked 2 palette that I received as a gift waiting to be used, so I want to use this up before I start on that one, especially as I like to carry this to travel with, I think 2 would be overkill.
9. Benefit High Beam. I really liked this product when I first got it, but I think there are better highlights out there. Perhaps mine has gone a bit gloopy, it needs to be used up either way.
10. MAC Lustre Drops in Pink Rebel. I probably prefer this to the Benefit High Beam, but I don't by any means think it is the best highlighter out there. It is however a fairly nice product.

So, thats what I have to get through, two highlighters seems a bit ambitious perhaps? They are quite used though. I will post my progress in a couple of weeks time! Let me know if you are also doing Project 10 Pan, I really like reading others posts on this!
